The School of Software at Zhejiang University was established in February 2001 and has been approved as a national demonstration software college and a national characteristic demonstration software college. In 2022, the first level discipline of software engineering in the college was once again selected as a national Double First Class discipline. The school has two campuses, located in Hangzhou and Ningbo. The Hangzhou campus is primarily focused on undergraduate education, while the Ningbo campus is dedicated to graduate-level training.
The school boasts several scientific research centers, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital twin technology, big data, industrial software, modern service industry, industrial design, etc. It offers three professional fields of study: software engineering, artificial intelligence, and industrial design engineering. The school admits over 400 master’s and doctoral students every year and has trained more than 7,200 graduates in software engineering. 75% of its graduates have gone on to work in top 500 companies in the world and key enterprises, making it a crucial hub for nurturing top software talents in China.Besides, the school always encourages all the facilities and students to innovate and start their own businesses, thus a group of entrepreneurial stars has emerged. Graduates have started more than 30 enterprises in Hangzhou, Ningbo and other cities, and some of them have even become one of the leaders in the field. Through the practice and further study in the School of Software Technology, many students have realized their life value, and have made important contributions to the enterprises and society.
